VÉLO-CITY

The concept; Vélo-City, took inspiration from Adventurers; people making pioneering achievements in exploration, athleticism and adventure sports. Wanting to capture this essence of energy and strength I focused on the Afghan Women’s cycling team, drawing inspiration from the movement of their bicycles and their technical inner workings.

The collection experiments with the idea of multi-functionality, featuring a jacket with an in-built backpack, and a coat that can also be used as a sleeping bag, inspired by survival bags used in hiking.

Fabric utilisation embraces fashion-meets-function, with a sponsorship from Cordura bringing fabrics such as waterproof ripstops and microfibres, paired with lycras and mesh.
I was delighted to have this collection featured on the Graduate Fashion Week catwalk, at The Outdoor Retailer Show in Utah, and to receive the Fashion Design Award at Fashanne, the East Midlands Design Awards.
